Yoko & Jun Senesac

My name is Yoshiki and I have been living in US since 1999. In my US life, I received Master degree and Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering focusing on life prediction of aircraft structures.  During my Ph.D. life, I had some teaching experiences on graduate courses and helped undergraduate students as a tutor.  Right before finishing my Ph.D., people from NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) in Cleveland OH invited me to join their group.  My responsibility in NASA GRC was to develop life prediction method for next generation jet engines.  During my NASA time, I published some technical journal publications and performed a peer-review on works of other international researchers.  Definitely I can help on professional technical reports including science reports for elementary school as well.  I moved to LA in 2014 for new position in a manufacturing industry as a R&D engineer.  In this position, I am constantly interacting with many Japanese suppliers and it made me realize that the quality of their products are overwhelmingly better than their English communication skill.  Such experience motivated me to join BYB English School to help Japanese people challenging English communication.

Apart from travel, I also love to do yoga, sing, play guitar, dance hula, and make YouTube videos! I graduated from University of CA, Riverside with a B.A. in Psychology, and completed my post-baccalaureate certification at CSULA in Communicative Disorders. In 2013, I created an organization known as Oceania Dance at UCR, where I led weekly hula, language, and lessons on Hawaiian culture. I have also worked at an elementary school in Mito, Japan, where I taught English to children ages 4-15. Having lived in Japan without any prior knowledge of Japanese was difficult at first, but I soon learned how rewarding and eye-opening it is to discover a new culture and language and fully immerse in it! I hope to bring that same joy and experience I felt while traveling abroad to those who wish to learn English. Nice to meet you! I love languages, I love teaching, so I love teaching languages. I studied Linguistics and Japanese at UCLA, and after graduating I went to Japan to teach English. I’ve been interested in Japan and Japanese culture since preschool, so I feel like teaching English to Japanese students is my destiny. I’ve been to Japan three times so far (Miyazaki is my favorite place) and I hope to go again many times.

Hope to talk to you soon!
